The latest RFID technology has been combined with our permanent high temperature resistant labels resulting in a UHF RFID label suitable for identifying various containers and surfaces that will undergo high heat treatment and exposure. These RFID labels withstand temperatures up to +230°C/+446°F, ensuring both the printed visual information and encoded RFID data are preserved under high heat conditions, making it a perfect solution for RFID identification and tracking items subjected to elevated temperatures.

These flexible, heat-resistant labels have a permanent adhesive which allows them to be applied directly on curved and flat plastic and glass surfaces without the need for mechanical attachment. They are well-suited for industrial painting and drying processes, such as automotive and epoxy powder coating, for the oil & gas industry, forging, manufacturing, and other industrial procedures requiring high heat.

Using an RFID thermal-transfer printer and our recommended smudge-proof RR-class of ink ribbons, these passive UHF RFID labels (Class 1, Gen 2) can be printed and encoded with up to 32 hexadecimal characters of data. The printout can include alphanumeric text, graphics, 1D and 2D barcodes, as well as serialized data. These permanent RFID labels are compatible with handheld, fixed, and integrated UHF RFID readers and can be integrated with industrial tracking systems to control and monitor manufacturing processes.

The color, size, and configuration of these heat-resistant RFID labels can be customized upon request.

  • 12” omnidirectional read range* ensures easy scanning from all angles
  • Scan multiple labels, even without a clear line-of-sight**
  • Flexible UHF inlay allows permanent adhesion to a variety of surfaces such as plastic and glass
  • Resist long term exposure up to +150°C/+302°F or short-term exposure (3 hrs) at +230°C/+446°F
  • Printed and encoded using UHF RFID thermal-transfer printers
  • Resist standard steam autoclave treatment (121°C, 16.5 psi steam pressure, 20 min)

* When using our recommended RFID reader. Read range can vary according to the RFID reader being used.

** Labels should not be enclosed by metal surfaces as this may cause interference that can affect their ability to be scanned/read.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, these RFID labels are thermal-transfer printable and require an ink ribbon to be printed. To achieve the proper printout, these labels require an RR-class ink ribbon of the same width or larger, suitable for the RFID thermal-transfer printer being used.

Yes, ZRF3-AUTT-class RFID labels can be printed in most common thermal-transfer printers, though for simultaneous RFID encoding, you will require a thermal-transfer printer capable of RFID encoding. We recommend the Zebra ZD621R  UHF RFID thermal-transfer printer.

These heat-resistant RFID labels can withstand extended exposure to high heat conditions, up to +150°C/+302°F, as well as up to 3hrs at 230°C/446°F. Prior testing in your high temperature conditions is strongly recommended.

These RFID labels must reach an operating temperature between (-35°C to +85°C / -31°F to +185°F) for them to be read using the RFID reader. The time to reach the operating temperature depends on the exposed temperature and the labeled container thickness.

Yes, ZRF3-AUTT-class RFID labels resist multiple standard steam autoclave treatments (121°C, 16.5 psi steam pressure, 20 min). Prior autoclave testing in your specific conditions is strongly recommended.

No, ZRF3-AUTT-class RFID labels are not designed for metal surfaces. They were specially designed for glass and plastic surfaces. Please contact us for RFID identification solutions intended for metal surfaces.

No, ZRF3-AUTT-class RFID labels have a permanent adhesive that is not made for easy removal.

Yes, these RFID labels can be offered in a variety of colors. For more information, contact our technical support team.

Yes, an UHF RFID reader is required to access the encoded data. It can be handheld, fixed, and integrated. We recommend the Unitech Handheld UHF RFID Reader for mobility, reach, and ease of use. This reader is able to read UHF RFID chips and scan 1D and 2D barcodes.

Place the UHF RFID reader at a maximum of 12″ (30.5 cm) away from the sample in any direction. However, the read range can vary according to the UHF RFID reader being used.

Yes, these RFID Labels are compatible with both regulations. Interrogate these labels with a UHF reader capable of reading the frequency band.

No, these labels employ UHF RFID technology and thus can be interrogated in another band frequency apart from NFC RFID labels. Thus, a dedicated UHF RFID reader is needed. For RFID labels customized with NFC RFID technology, contact our technical support team.

The UHF RFID chip (Class 1, Gen2) of these RFID labels can be encoded with up to 32 hexadecimal characters.

Yes, ZRF3-AUTT-class RFID labels contain read-write UHF RFID chips. Thus, you can rewrite the EPC memory bank up to 100,000 times if the permalock feature is not active.

Yes, you can scan/read multiple ZRF3-AUTT-class RFID labels at the same time within the interrogation timeout (in seconds), even without a direct line-of-sight to the UHF RFID reader.

No, these RFID labels are battery-free. They do not require a battery to be functional as they employ passive RFID technology.

Yes, you can design your own template that corresponds to the size of the label using specialized software such as BarTender Pro (or higher) and ZebraDesigner3 Pro, which allow you to encode the RFID tags as well.

Yes, we can provide our heat-resistant RFID Labels with full-color graphics and logos, as well as variable or serialized information from a database. Please consult our technical support team for details regarding custom encoding and other custom printing options.
