XAR-class resin ink ribbons are designed to provide solvent resistant printouts when used with compatible thermal-transfer labels, including select IndustriTAG labels. XAR-printed labels resist incidental chemical exposure and extended immersion in solvents such as xylene, ethanol, isopropanol, acetone, and others without the need for a protective clear lamination or overlay. Available in different sizes to ensure compatibility with most thermal-transfer printer brands and models.

You can use this ink ribbon with many of our thermal-transfer labels, though we recommend this ink ribbon for labels that require resistance to harsh chemicals and solvents like xylene and MEK.

XAR-class ink ribbons are made of resin, which provides great resistance to temperature extremes and excellent protection against chemicals and solvents as compared to other types of ink ribbons.

XAR-class ink ribbons offer resistance to a variety of harsh chemicals and solvents, including xylene, toluene, acetone, and alcohols. They are ideal for use in chemical-resistant labeling applications when used with compatible thermal-transfer labels.

Typically, there is enough length of ink ribbon on a new roll to print several label rolls. To calculate exactly how much ink ribbon is required to print our label rolls, please contact our technical support team.

Please refer to the specifications provided with your printer to determine the core size suitable for your printer.

Thermal-transfer ribbons can have the ink coated on either side. Coated-inside or coated-outside refers to the side of the ribbon that the ink sits on.

The quickest way to tell which side is coated is by unwinding the ink ribbon. One side will be shiny and one side has a more matte finish. The duller side is the side with the ink.
